Getingmidjan, the existing line between Stockholm Central and Stockholms södra is a bottleneck in Stockholm´s railway system. Most of the railway line is from the 1950s and is in need of extensive restructuring. This includes the replacement of two railway bridges. To make this possible a lot of preparatory work is underway. Mainly track works, cable installations and changes in the signalling system. Time schedule for the project: – 2016 – 2018 preparatory work – 2017 – 2021 The major works will take place. – 2018 – 2020 Shutdown is planned for the summers of 2018, 2019 and 2020.
The Swedish Vision Zero is changing the approach to road safety work around the world. An example is New York City, where Vision Zero was introduced in 2014. This film is about how road safety has been improved in New York and about the effects that have been achieved.
